It seems that Illegear has another set of Intel Coffee Lake-H gaming laptops in its stable following the unveiling of Onyx last week. While the company has yet to make the official announcement regarding them, we noticed that Illegear has listed the refreshed version of its Raven gaming laptop on its online store alongside another variant called Raven Elite.
For the newly refreshed Raven, it can now be obtained with either the 4-core 8-thread Intel Core i5-8300H or 6-core 12-thread Intel Core i7-8750H processor. In terms of graphics, Raven is now available only up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti as it seems the GeForce GTX 1060 option has been transferred to the Raven Elite.
Speaking about the Raven Elite, this particular model comes standard with Intel Core i7-8750H processor alongside the GeForce GTX 1060 graphics. The laptop also seems to have more elaborate thermal solution with five heat pipes and four thermal vents as opposed to the standard Raven which has two heat pipes and two vents although both models still come with a pair of thermal fans each.
Another factor that made Raven Elite slightly different than a standard Raven is its 15.6-inch display which has native resolution of 4K instead of full HD. At the same time, customers can also switch to the optional 144Hz IPS panel although the resolution is limited to full HD.
Other than that, the Raven Elite also features a customizable RGB LED bar on its front. The higher-end model is also around 1mm thicker and 0.3kg heavier than the standard Raven which is not much considering its form factor.
As for similarities between them, both Raven and Raven Elite are equipped with the Geneswitch mechanical keyboard that Illegear has implemented on the newly announced Onyx gaming laptop. They can also be obtained with up to 32GB RAM, two PCIe NVMe M.2 solid state drive, and one 2.5-inch SATA drive.
Price-wise, the newly refreshed Raven starts at RM 4199 while the Raven Elite goes for RM 6399 onwards. It is only a matter of time before Illegear going to make these laptops official, so head on to the company’s official website or Facebook page for further updates.
