It looks like Razer is taking an unusual approach to introducing the newly launched Razer Game Store in Southeast Asia. The company has announced that instead of being a self contained operation, the store will instead be hosted on Lazada.
Channel News Asia is reporting that Razer will be launching the Razer Game Store on Lazada in Malaysia and Singapore in this quarter, with Indonesia and the Philippines to follow later. Why it isn’t directly working to sell the games through its own platform in this region is unknown, and no reasons were provided.
Razer recently launched the Razer Game Store in a very select number of countries, covering only the UK, US, Germany, and France. The store itself digital games, which come in the form of Steam keys. However, the draw is that purchases also earn zSilver loyalty points; which customers can later redeem for additional Razer products.
More information is not yet available, but it would seem like something that is coming sooner rather than later. Especially with how suddenly the digital distribution platform was released.
