The special edition iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED smartphones are now available in Malaysia. Announced globally just two days ago, the official Apple online store have now listed the two devices to order.
As we reported previously, the (PRODUCT) RED special editions will not have a difference in retail price compared to the standard iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The 64GB and 256GB iPhone 8 retails for RM3649 and RM4399 respectively, while the larger iPhone 8 Plus are available at RM4149 and RM4899 for the 64GB and 256GB variants respectively.
The difference, of course, is in the colour: the (PRODUCT) RED iPhones have a sexy red chassis paired with a black front, offering an outstanding yet classy-looking exterior. More importantly, a portion of all sales of these iPhones goes to Global Fund HIV/AIDS grants that provide testing, counseling, treatment and prevention programs. Apple has donated more than $160 million (about RM640 million) to the Global Fund since it began the partnership in 2006.
For those who are looking to buy the (PRODUCT) RED iPhones in Malaysia, you might be pleasantly surprised to know that you will receive your order almost at the same time as Apple’s first wave of availability (which Malaysia originally wasn’t a part of). Apple’s online store puts a delivery estimate of 16 April 2018 if you place an order today.
