LG has been relatively quiet this year, but it appears the Korean company will finally unveil its first proper flagship of 2018 next month: the LG G7 ThinQ. According to LG, the G7 is the first G series phone to carry the ThinQ branding, suggesting that the phone will feature some form of AI integration.
Beyond detailing the announcement date, LG did not reveal other details on the G7 ThinQ. The company did, however, mention that the upcoming phone will feature enhanced AI capability – more so than the LG V30S ThinQ, which was shown back at MWC 2018.
Rumours, on the other hand, are suggesting that the G7 ThinQ will come with pretty high-end hardware. These include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a 16MP dual-camera system, an 8MP selfie camera, and like several Android smartphones now, an almost bezel-less display with a notch at the top.
Interestingly, the G7 will apparently have an “AI button” on the left side of the phone too, which will supposedly activate the AI-powered camera feature.
Based on leaked renders of the LG G7 ThinQ, it does look rather sleek, although it remains to be seen whether or not the flagship will have any particular standout feature. The G7 ThinQ is expected to be launched on 3 May 2018.
