Canon’s mirrorless and 4K video-capable EOS M50 is now officially available at all authorised Canon retailers and stores and Canon Image Square stores. If you’re looking to purchase the camera online, you can do so via Canon’s official online store at Lazada.
Specs-wise, the EOS M50 sports a 24MP APS-C sensor, a Dual-Pixel autofocus system, and a brand new DIGIC 8 Image processor. It’s also the first camera to use Canon’s new CR3 RAW format; a format that Canon says reduces the image file size by 50%, while still maintaining the same resolution.
Pricing for the EOS M50 starts at RM2799 for just the camera body, but Canon is also offering two additional body kit options. The first bundle includes a EF-M 15-45mm kit lens, and will be priced at RM3199. The second bundle includes the same kit lens, plus an additional EF-M 55-200mm telephoto lens. This bundle is the most premium of the three, and will retail at RM4299.
As mentioned earlier, the EOS M50 is already available for purchase, and will be available in two colour options, black and white.
If you need a flash, Canon also announced its new Speedlite 470 EX-AI smart flash alongside the EOS M50, but you’re going to have to wait until the end of May before you can get your hands on it.
The flash comes with an auto-intelligent bounce function, meaning that it will automatically detect the best point to bounce the flash off in a room. At the time of writing, Canon did not provide the pricing for the Speedlite 470 EX-AI.
