HMD Global has begun to send media invite for the launch of its next batch of phones in Malaysia which will take place later this month. The event will see the unveiling of two phone, the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 1 which were originally launched at Mobile World Congress earlier this month.
Built with 6-inch 18:9 full HD+ IPS display, the Nokia 7 Plus is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 alongside 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The Android One phone is also equipped with dual camera setup on its back which feature a 12MP f/1.75 camera as its main snapper alongside secondary 13MP f/2.6 camera with 2x optical zoom.
There is also another 16MP cameras on the front of phone. All three cameras on Nokia 7 Plus also features Zeiss optics. Completing the phone’s general specs sheet is a 3800mAh battery.
On another hand, the Nokia 1 is designed for the entry-level market and is HMD Global’s first ever Android Go product. Given its purpose, the hardware that the company has equipped into the phone is rather modest.
We are looking at at a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display, MediaTek MT6737M processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal storage. Designed to withstand limited amount of dust and water dips up to IP52 standard, Nokia 1 also carries 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, and 2150mAh battery.
Since it is pre-installed with Android Oreo (Go edition), the phone also features optimized Google apps which are lighter and take less resources than their standard counterparts. At the same time, Nokia 1 also equipped with Xpress-on exchangeable battery covers which mark the return of yet another brand name from Nokia’s golden era.
It goes without saying that we expect HMD Global to reveal the local pricing and release date for both phones at this launch event. We not sure if the equally new Nokia 8 Sirocco, 2018 Nokia 6, and Nokia 8110 banana phone will be there but we would not be surprised if they appear at the event.
