Remember the Black Shark gaming smartphone that had its benchmark scores leaked a couple of weeks ago? It appears the unannounced device will be officially unveiled as early as next week. Said to be a competitor to the Razer Phone, the Black Shark phone does sound rather enticing.
What makes Black Shark a particularly interesting company is the fact that it is backed by Xiaomi. With this in mind, there’s a very good chance the gaming phone will be priced competitively. Based on previous leaks and rumours, the Black Shark smartphone will pack some high-end specifications too.
As it is marketed as a gaming smartphone, the device is said to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, putting it one equal footing with the Razer Phone’s generous amount of RAM. Aside from that, it is rumoured to come with up to 256GB of internal storage as well.
Of course, the Black Shark phone wouldn’t really be a competitor to the Razer Phone if it doesn’t come with a good display: it’s said to ship with a 120Hz display too, much like Razer’s offering. However, the exact screen size – and aspect ratio – of the device still remain to be seen.
The Xiaomi Black Shark smartphone will be officially unveiled on 13 April next week. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how it stacks up to the Razer Phone once it is released.
