Asus is following Intel’s announcement of the 8th Generation Coffee Lake processors with an update of the entire ROG line. Most of these are simple refreshes of existing products, although it does include a previously unannounced Zephyrus-M.
The original Zephyrus extra thin gaming laptop will see a new Intel Core i7-8750H processor take the place of the i7-7700HQ. Aside from that, it’s more or less the same machine. Still packed with 24GB RAM, a 1TB PCIe SSD, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Max-Q.
New to the Zephyrus brand is the Zephyrus-M, which looks to be a more budget friendly take on the thin gaming laptop. It packs the same Core i7-8750H processor as the Zephyrus, but downgrades the memory to 16GB and drops the GPU down to a GTX 1070 Max-Q or GTX 1060 Max-Q.
Asus’ most premium Coffee Lake equipped laptop looks to be the updated G703. This machine doesn’t skimp on the hardware, being equipped with an Intel Core i9-8950HK, 32GB RAM, a 2TB HDD, and a pair of 256GB SSDs. All topped off with a GTX 1080 and 144Hz FHD display.
The Strix line is also similarly being updated with new processors, with both the Strix Scar Edition and Strix Hero Edition lines receiving the i7-8750H processor. Aside from that, they are more or less remaining the same.
No release price tag has been provided for any of these machines as of yet, but they are all schedule to be released in April; save for the G703 which is due in May.
