It’s no secret that Asus has a new ROG Zephyrus laptop ready for the arrival of Intel’s 8th generation processors. However, it would seem that a UK online store jumped the gun and accidentally provided a product listing for the Max-Q powered gaming laptop.
As far as specifications go, it seems to be very similar to the original Zephyrus that we reviewed before. The 15.6-inch display comes with a 1080p resolution and 144Hz refresh rate; while the insides are 512GB SSD storage and a GTX 1080 Max-Q graphics card. The only new thing on the inside seems to be the six-core Intel Core i7-8750, built on the new Coffee Lake architecture.
What is more interesting is the location of the keyboard, which has been relocated into a more traditional space closer to the display. We’re not entirely sure how this will work out, considering that both the GTX 1080 Max-Q powered laptops we’ve reviewed produced a substantial amount of heat.
The retailer had the price listed at £2,902.99 (RM15,700), although that price includes VAT. That said, be don’t expect the final price in Malaysia to be too far off from that number, considering that the last Zephyrus had more or less the same price tag.
