GoPro has announced its an action cam aimed at the affordable market. The new GoPro Hero may be the most budget friendly product from the camera-maker, but it is far from gimped in features or functions.
For one, it shares many features as the rest of the Hero series. It can capture 1440/60p and 1080/60p video, take 10MP pictures, features a 2-inch touchscreen on the back, as well as voice control for hands-free controls. It also has GoPro’s electronic video stabilisation system, shared compatibility with the GoPro and Quik apps as well as the multitude of GoPro Hero accessories currently in the market.
The Hero can survive waters up to 10 metres without a protective case making it suitable for snorkelling and most other water-sports activities out there. Storage is done via a microSD slot but it can be connected to a smart device for instant transfers using Wifi and Bluetooth.
The new GoPro Hero is out now with a sticker price of RM949 on the official GoPro online store and retailers pretty soon. It should be noted that the local price is far more expensive than the $199 (RM770) promised to US based customers; which really defeats the purpose of this being a budget action camera.
