It was only four weeks ago that DxOMark has crowned Galaxy S9+ as the new king of its mobile photography ranking. Today, the top position of the ranking has changed hands once again with the launch of Huawei P20 and P20 Pro which seemed to leave a good impression among the folks at the renowned image lab.
According to the report, the P20 Pro received a DxOMark score of 109 points which is actually not far off from the P20’s 102 points. This is despite the fact that P20 Pro is equipped with three rear cameras that also include a massive 40MP sensor for the phone’s main camera as opposed to P20 which has smaller resolution dual camera setup.
The lab also pointed out that the P20 Pro not only has the best smartphone camera at the moment but has surpassed its predecessors by one or two generations. In fact, DxOMark is quite confident that the triple camera setup of the phone is an actual game changer.
As for the P20, DxOMark was still impressed by the phone’s camera and stated that they have no obvious weaknesses regardless for still images or video recordings. The lab also commented on the versatility of P20 by saying that the phone is able to provide top performance in a wide variety of environment.
If DxOMark’s verdict on the new Huawei P20 and P20 Pro sounds rather unbelievable to you, don’t worry though as you will have the chance to test these phones yourself as they will be launched in Malaysia next week.
