At the on-going Mi Mix 2S launch event in Shanghai, Xiaomi has revealed that the renowned imaging lab DxOMark has been given early access to its brand-new flagship smartphone. The lab subsequently published its report on the new device alongside the launch event.
The lab noted that the camera on Mi Mix 2S able to continuously deliver good performance in any given lighting conditions alongside impressive autofocus capability. It is also apparently able to deliver good color reproduction and low-light capability with balanced noise and texture although its sharpness might not be class-leading in outdoor condition.
In terms of video, DxOMark pointed out that Mi Mix 2S offers good performance even though not as good as its still photos capabilities. The phone’s autofocus system once again was highlighted by the lab as the star of Mi Mix 2S’s video capability although there were apparently some exposure irregularities and differences in sharpness which affected the phone’s final video rating.
In the end, the lab has awarded 101 points to the phone in terms of still photos although it received a much lower score of 88 points for its video capability. This resulted in a combined score of 97 points which made Mi Mix 2S on par with Apple iPhone X and Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
All in all, DxOMark seemed to be quite impressed by the new Mi Mix 2S. Of course, the end user will be the actual judge though once the phone is made available into the market.
