Samsung appears to be turning its attention to the entry level market for the middle of the year, with filings at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USTPO) revealing two new J-series smartphones. Specifically for a Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit and Galaxy J7 Crown. The trademarks were filed earlier this month and are currently pending approval.
Additionally, Android Headlines discovered a Samsung branded device on Geekbench sporting a model number of “SM-J737P”. The previous J series smartphone by Samsung have model numbers such as “SM-J700,” “SM-J710” and “SM-J730.” Therefore, it is likely that the new model number to be a new J series smartphone. The benchmark also points to some of the specs that we can expect to have on the new J7: an Exynos 7885 Octa-processor, 2GB of RAM, and Android 8.0 Oreo.
Samsung hasn’t announced any release date regarding any new phone launches yet. Though, all this under the radar activities may suggest that the release of these phones may come soon.
