Usually, top-of-the-line smartphones come with 256GB of internal storage at most, but this could change in the very near future. Based on a recent TENAA listing, Huawei may be introducing a smartphone with an enormous 512GB of storage.
This was first spotted by PhoneRadar in TENAA’s database. Carrying the model number “NEO-AL00,” the mysterious Huawei phone comes with 6GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Beyond these two hardware information, however, the listing doesn’t reveal any other specifications.
Just December last year, Samsung started started mass production of 512GB UFS storage. While it still remains to be seen if the Huawei phone will be equipped with said storage solution, it’s not an entirely far-fetched possibility. After all, Huawei has used Samsung’s storage solutions in the past.
While some would argue the practicality of having 512GB of storage on a smartphone, we imagine it will appeal to certain consumers. Of course, microSD cards can provide similar amount of storage, but native storage is always considered superior when it comes to compatibility and performance.
Currently, there’s still no information on when Huawei would launch the mysterious phone. Based on leaks and rumours, it’s unlikely to be the P20 or P20 Pro, though there is a chance it’s the Porsche Design edition of the P20 – if it even exists.
