It appears HMD Global is preparing to launch its range of smartphones unveiled at MWC 2018 right here in Malaysia. These include the Nokia 7 Plus, the second generation Nokia 6, as well as the company’s very first Android Go device, the budget-friendly Nokia 1.
All three of these devices were registered with SIRIM under Avaxx. The Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6, and Nokia 1 are in SIRIM’s database with the model numbers TA-1046, TA-1043, and TA-1047 respectively – their model numbers all correspond with Nokia’s user guides.
Out of the three phones, the Nokia 7 Plus is the most interesting one. It comes with a 6-inch 18:9 Full HD+ IPS display with small bezels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, and a 3,800mAh battery.
But the most interesting hardware of the 7 Plus is its camera system: the device features a 12MP + 13MP telephoto lens dual-camera system – the very same one found on the higher-end Nokia 8 Sirocco. Aside from that, it has a 16MP front-facing shooter as well, and all three cameras come with Zeiss optics.
At the moment, it still remains to be seen exactly when these phones will be launched in Malaysia, but there’s a good chance they will be available here in April next month – that’s the global release month of these devices. Hopefully, the Nokia 8 Sirocco will also be launched here in the same time frame.
