It appears one member of the Huawei P20 series has been launched in China. Dubbed the Nova 3E – it’s also sold in certain markets as the P20 Lite – it shares a number of design cues as its higher-end siblings. Yes, that includes the display notch.
Moving forward, it seems like more and more Android devices will ship with a notch at the top of the display, and it’s likely the P20 series of smartphones will follow the trend. Aside from the display notch, other specifications of the Nova 3E are decidedly mid-range.
These include a new generation 5.84-inch Full HD+ Huawei FullView Display, a Huawei Kirin 659 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, up to 128GB of expandable storage, and a 3,000mAh battery. In the camera department, it features 16MP + 2MP rear cameras and a 16MP front-facing shooter.
Rounding out the specifications of the Nova 3E are a rear fingerprint sensor, face unlock, fast charging, and EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
The Nova 3E is now available for pre-order in China, and it retails at 1,999 Chinese yuan (about RM1,240) and 2,199 yuan (approximately RM1,360) for the 64GB and 128GB variants respectively. For now, it remains to be seen if the Nova 3E – or the P20 Lite – will be launched in Malaysia.
