Its hype train in Malaysia be focusing on vivo V9 but in China, vivo is focusing on entirely new device for its home market. The phone comes in the form of vivo X21 which interestingly, is being released as two separate variants.
However, there is only one major factor that separates them them: fingerprint scanner. Specifically, the scanner on the standard X21 model is located on its back while the second variant which is being referred to as the X21 UD is equipped with in-screen scanner that similar in manner as per vivo X20 Plus UD.
Other major parts of both devices remained the same as they are equipped with a 6.28-inch FHD+ 19:9 Super AMOLED display and yes, there is indeed a notch on the top part of their screen. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, they also come with 6GB of RAM alongside storage options of up to 128GB.
Photography-wise, the X21 series devices comes with dual rear camera which features 12MP and 5MP sensors. For selfies, they depend on a 12MP front-facing camera which also supports face unlocking feature. Alongside a built-in AKM AK4376A DAC and headphone amplifier chip, the X21 devices also carries a 3200mAh battery with support for fast charging.
Available in China starting from 24 March, the new vivo X21 with 64GB storage is priced at CNY 2898 (about RM 1797) with the 128GB version can be obtained for CNY 3198 (about RM 1983). For X21 UD, it costs slightly higher at CNY 3598 (about RM 2231) and will be released on 28 March instead. At this moment, it is not known whether vivo has the intention to release any of these devices into Malaysia.
