Fitbit’s recently announced Versa smartwatch is set to arrive in Malaysia at some point over the next three months. While the global announcement has it set for sale in the US next month (with pre-orders already open), the timeline is less certain for our own country.
The official announcement claims that the Fitbit Versa will be here in Q2 2018; which is anywhere between next month and June. We’re inclined to believe that it will be here sooner rather than later. Seeing that Fitbit has usually managed to bring things into Malaysia relatively quickly.
As far as pricing goes, the base model of the Fitbit Versa will sell with an aluminum case, gray with a silver aluminum case, or peach with a rose gold aluminum case for RM990. Accessories will range from between RM130 to RM420 for the bands; while the Fitbit Versa Special Edition will retail for RM 1,120. Unlike the US, there is no pre-order available at the moment.
One other thing to note is that the contactless payment system on the Fitbit Versa Special Edition will not work in Malaysia. This is due to Fitbit Pay not yet being available here; although that is not to say that it will not be activated at some time in the future.
