Google might just be planning to rebrand its current Android Wear OS, removing the ‘Android’ from its name and simply calling it ‘Wear OS’.
The possibility of Google’s re-branding comes from a discovery made by a Reddit user, H3x0n, who noticed the name change, as well as a new logo to complement the change. H3x0n was running the new Android P Developer Preview and version 12.4 of Google Play Services, which only displayed the name ‘Wear OS’, but in the Google Play Service beta version 12.5, both the name and a new stylised ‘W’ logo are noticeable.
This isn’t the first time Google decided to rebrand an app or service. Back in January, the search engine giant merged and rebranded both Android Pay and Google Wallet into a new service that is now known as Google Pay.
