Just yesterday, we reported on the leaked specifications of HTC’s next flagship phone, which is very likely the HTC U12. Turns out, there’s even more information: the Taiwanese company’s upcoming flagship may be unveiled as early as next month.
According to Llabtoofer – the very same source for the U12’s hardware leak – HTC’s next flagship, codenamed “Imagine,” could be made official sometime in April 2018. For the sake of comparison, the HTC U11 was released back in May 2017 – about the same time frame.
If Llabtoofer is to be believed – the ROM developer is quite well-known for its credible information surrounding HTC – the U12 will come with respectable specifications. These include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with up to 6GB of RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage, a 3,420mAh battery, as well as an IP68 rating. It also features a 5.99-inch QHD+ display – likely an 18:9 panel – Edge Sense 2.0, and HTC Face Unlock.
Beyond these hardware, the U12 is said to be packing a particularly interesting hardware too: a 12MP + 16MP dual-camera system. It marks the Taiwanese company’s return to a dual-camera smartphone since the HTC One M9+. Aside from that, it will reportedly come with an 8MP front-facing shooter as well.
The HTC U12 will likely be the company’s first flagship of 2018, and only time will tell if the device will be launched next month in April.
