Hardware specification of what could possibly be the HTC U12 has been leaked online. The source of the leak stems from a tweet posted by LlabTooFeR (@LlabTooFeR), and it provides summarised, if not detailed list of components that it says that HTC’s yet-to-be released phone might have.
Take note that the tweet doesn’t outright refer to HTC’s upcoming phone as the U12; instead, it’s listed with the codename ‘HTC Imagine’. In it, @LlabTooFeR says that the U12 will house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, have up to 6GB of RAM, a 5.99″ QHD+ display, and as much as 256GB for its internal storage.
The list continues on, listing a dual 12MP and 16MP array for its main camera, and both made by Sony; an outright hint that HTC might have jumped on the dual camera bandwagon. Moving forward; it also seems like the phone will be powered by a 3,420mAh battery, which is to be expected given the phone’s rumoured display size and resolution.

HTC’s Edge Sense also seems to be making a return to the U12; LlabTooFeR’s tweet seems to suggest that the squeeze function that first appeared on the U11 will be second generation, which in turn suggests that the feature could come with new or improved functions. Additionally, the phone will supposedly run on Android 8.0 Oreo and HTC’s Sense 10 UI at launch.
As exciting as these specs might sound, HTC has yet to make any official announcement about the U12. Until then, we do ask that you all take this bit of news with a very large grain of salt, or at least until the phone’s official unveiling that is scheduled take place sometime in May.
