Weeks after its imminent arrival into our market was made known through SIRIM as well as teasers from the company, Honor today has officially launched the Honor 9 Lite in Malaysia. Previously available in China and India, the company has collaborated with Shopee Malaysia in order to release the device into our market.
Built with a 5.65-inch 18:9 full HD+ display, Honor 9 Lite is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 659 processors alongside 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It also able to support microSD card with storage space of up to 256GB.
Aside from the full screen display, the other main attraction of the phone is its quad camera setup. Interestingly, Honor has choose to fit the combination of 13MP capture sensor and 2MP depth sensor on both side of the phone. The existence of depth sensors allow the phone to provide refocus feature to users alongside hardware-level bokeh effect.
That being said, Honor 9 Lite’s rear camera comes with PDAF capability while the front camera has fixed focus. Pre-installed with EMUI 8.0 on top of its Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, rounding up the phone’s general specifications is a 3000mAh battery.
Available in Sapphire Blue and Glacier Grey colorways, the new Honor 9 Lite carries a price tag of RM 749. The phone will be released on Shopee Malaysia on 9 March at 9AM and can even be obtained for much less at RM 699 as part of the phone’s launch promotion.
While the phone will be made available exclusively through Shopee Malaysia for the time being, the company has mentioned during media Q&A session that Honor 9 Lite will still be released in physical stores at later date. However, the exact release date was not mentioned in its response to our query.
