Traditionally, Huawei will have several models under the P-series to cater to different price points, and the upcoming P20 family will be no exception. According to a leaked brochure, the Huawei P20 Lite is expected to join the P20 and P20 Pro at launch later this month.
According to the Vodafone Spain brochure, the Huawei P20 Lite will be a mid-range model with high-end design. It will have a 5.84″ 19:9 aspect ratio screen at 2250 x 1080 pixels, where the extra pixels can be used to house the area around the notch for the front camera and sensors.
Powered by the Kirin 659, the phone will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There will also be a dual-camera sensor at the back with a 16MP + 2MP sensor – just like the Nova 2i. Selfies will be serviced by a single 16MP sensor on the front.
Juicing everything up will be a 3000mAh battery. The fingerprint sensor will be at the back, and two colours will be available on option: Black and Blue. The expected price of the P20 Lite is €370 or about RM 1,791 (including taxes, which is usually around the 20% mark in Europe).
Huawei is known to sell the same phone in different markets under different names. The Nova 2i for example is also known as the Mate 10 Lite in some markets outside of Malaysia. We may see the same thing happen here with the P20 Lite when it comes to our shores sometime later this year.
