While some phone makers are taking a page out of Apple’s book, Wiko takes a somewhat different approach with the Wiko View 2. Yeap, it looks a lot like the Essential Phone, right down to the circular notch at the top of the phone.
However, the View 2 isn’t exactly a flagship smartphone: even the Pro model only comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset. The standard View 2, on the other hand, features a even more modest Snapdragon 435 SoC. Aside from that, both phones also have 6-inch 19:9 HD+ displays, 3,000mAh batteries, and Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
There are also a few noteworthy differences between the View 2 and View 2 Pro. For one, the latter features two 16MP f/1.75 rear cameras along with a 16MP front-facing shooter. As for the standard View 2, it comes with a single 13MP rear camera and a 16MP front-facing snapper.
Other differences include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage on the View 2 Pro, and only 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage on the regular View 2.
The Wiko View 2 and View 2 Pro retail at 199 euro (about RM955) and 299 euro (approximately RM1,430) respectively. Set to be available from April 2018 onwards, it’ll be interesting to see when – or if – these two phones will be launched in Malaysia.
