Sigma has announced that it will be releasing new lenses for Sony’s mirrorless cameras to complement the release of the new A7 Mark III. The company looks to release a total of nine lenses that will help increase options for users of Sony mirrorless cameras.
It should be noted that the lenses that were announced are all prime lenses. The new lenses that Sigma will be offering are:
Sigma 14mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art
Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
Sigma 24mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
Sigma 50mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
Sigma 70mm F2.8DG MACRO | Art
Sigma 85mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
Sigma 105mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art
Sigma 135mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art
Sigma states that the key features of these lenses are that they can work fully with Sony cameras. This means that the camera’s autofocus features and image stabilisation will will function just like the native lenses by Sony.
This announcement will certainly improve the E-mount line up of lenses. In terms of availability, the lenses will be made available gradually later this year.
