Firmware files for the soon-to-be announced Huawei P20 Plus have managed to get leaked, providing us with a glimpse of what’s in store. There’s little to be gleaned from the information, although it the presence of an Always On Display APK provides some hints as to the display type.
The first Huawei device with an Always On Display option was the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, and it came with an OLED screen. Chances are that the specifications will apply this time around, although we can’t say for certain if this will be the case.
Additionally, Android’s own APIs have revealed that the P20 Plus will feature a 4,000mAh battery, while the P20 will have a 3,3320mAh unit. Differences in battery capacities are to be expected across phone sizes, but in this case it appears to be substantial gap between the two.
Earlier leaks have already pointed towards triple-camera sensors, HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC and a larger push for AI in photography. Huawei is set to launch the new P20 family on March 27 in Paris, according to an invite to the event sent out to the media.
