Just a few days ago, we’ve written an article regarding the alleged release date of Intel Coffee Lake-H equipped notebooks. It seems that one of those processors, the Intel Core i9-8950K, has got some of its key specifications leaked recently. The leak first came from folks at VideoCardz who spotted a listing on 3DMark, which contains the Core i9-8950K on an unnamed MSI notebook.
According to the specifications listed on 3DMark’s database, the Intel Core i9-8950K will feature a base clock speed of 2.9GHz and a maximum Turbo clock speed of around 3.9GHz. In addition, this processor will come with six CPU cores and twelve threads. The TDP, while not stated on the 3DMark database, is expected to be around 45W and above.
Looking at the unnamed MSI notebook itself, VideoCardz have stated that the laptop will come with two GTX 1080 GPUs and it may utilise Intel’s HM370 chipset. Knowing this, it wouldn’t be surprising then to see the Core i9-8950K be used inside high-end, pricey gaming notebooks. Those aside, we do urge our dear readers to take this one with a grain of salt, at least until Intel makes its Coffee Lake-H CPU lineup official.
