For those who owned a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+, you might have noticed this through a notification on your phone. If you somehow missed it though, here’s a good news for you: Samsung has begun to roll out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for your device.
Alongside Samsung Experience 9.0, the new update brings together quite a number of improvement and new feature for both devices. As mentioned inside the update’s release note, among such changes is the limitation of background services in order to improve performance and battery life for both devices.
Additionally, users will also receive the new Dual Messenger feature that allows them to run two identical instant messaging app at the same time. Other improvements that are packed into this update also include new keyboard toolbar, new Edge lighting effects, pin and snooze option for notifications, enhancements for Samsung DeX, Bluetooth high-quality audio codecs, and many more.
To check whether the update is already available for your device, just go into the phone’s Settings section, tap on the Software Update and then followed by Download Updates Manually. The file size is quite big at around 1.3GB, so make sure that you already connected to your preferred network connection before you proceed to download the update.
