After months of rumors, Xiaomi has finally revealed its latest smartphone in the form of Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. Built upon the foundation left by the popular Redmi Note 4, the new Redmi Note 5 was originally released in China as the Redmi 5 Plus which has already made its way into Malaysia recently as well.
So, let’s focus on the all-new Redmi Note 5 Pro instead which is one of the first device in the world to feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. At the same time, it also comes with dual rear camera setup which carries a 12MP Sony IMX 486 sensor and f/2.2 lens as the main snapper alongside another 5MP f/2.0 camera that acts as a depth sensor.
For selfies, the phones depends on a 20MP f/2.2 front camera which is accompanied by a 4500k LED flash to help provide better lighting. Not to forget, the new phone also comes with face unlock as part of its security feature.
In terms of display, it shares the same 18:9 full HD+ display as per the non-Pro model. Completing the phone’s general specification list is 64GB of internal storage and a 4000mAh battery with the support for Quick Charge 2.0 standard.
Available in India starting from 22 February, the Redmi Note 5 Pro can be obtained with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM for INR 13999 (about RM 857) while the model with 6GB RAM goes for INR 16999 (about RM 1040). It is not known at the moment if Xiaomi would bring this model to markets outside of India anytime soon.
