AMD is apparently planning to release two more variants of its recently released AM4-based Ryzen desktop APUs. For those who may not be aware, the company has announced two brand new processors: Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G – both of which come with an integrated Radeon Vega GPU (read more on them here).
An interesting discovery was recently spotted on ASRock’s AM4 CPU support page, which lists what seem to be two upcoming, unannounced APUs from AMD (listing has since been removed). These are the Ryzen 2400GE and Ryzen 3 2200GE. Judging from the specifications listed on ASRock’s website, both these processors can be seen as low-powered variants of the Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G.
To be more specific, both the Ryzen 5 2400GE and Ryzen 3 2200GE feature frequency speeds of 3.2GHz and TDP ratings of merely 35W. In comparison, the Ryzen 5 2400G has a clock speed of 3.6GHz and 65W TDP, while the Ryzen 3 2200G has a frequency speed of 3.5GHz and TDP rating of 65W.
It has to be said, however, that AMD has not made these processors official at the time of writing, so take this one with a grain of salt for now, folks. That said, should ASRock’s listing be true, then we can expect AMD to release even more Raven Ridge APUs this year – this time aimed at budget-conscious consumers.
