It looks like we won’t have to wait too long to see notebook manufacturers slapping on Intel’s Coffee Lake-H processors on their laptops. For those who may remember, we wrote a piece about mobile Intel Coffee Lake-H processors; these include a range of Core i9, Core i7 and Core i5 processors along with two Xeon CPUs (read more on that here).
Recent reports have suggested that notebooks with Intel Coffee Lake-H processors may be launched by April this year. A Gigabyte representative was quoted saying that “there will be a new model with refresh Intel 8th Gen processor toward the end of March or early April 2018” as a response to a question by a customer enquiring about its Aero 15X notebook.
Intel Coffee Lake-H processors will feature up to six CPU cores and 12 threads along with turbo clock speeds of up to 2.8GHz. All Core i Coffee Lake-H CPUs will come with the Intel UHD 630 integrated GPU. Those looking for an Intel processor with Radeon RX Vega integrated GPUs should look at Kaby Lake-G CPUs instead.
Regardless, we do urge our dear readers to take this one with a grain of salt. That said, it’ll be interesting to see just how powerful upcoming notebooks will be now that they will be endowed with a six-core CPU.
