After releasing the renders of the device, the prolific leaker Evan Blass continues his Samsung Galaxy S9 coverage by publishing the images of the new Samsung DeX docking station. While the new flagship device might still feature traces of the design from its predecessor, not for its docking station though.
Instead of vertical design, potential users of Galaxy S9 need to horizontally connect the device into dock. While this is something that might seemed rather odd, the design does make sense though as users will apparently able to utilize the phone as a touchpad or virtual keyboard which is something that has been rumored before.
Just like its predecessor, the new version of DeX docking station features two USB, one USB Type-C, and one HDMI ports. However, it seems like Samsung decided not to retain the Ethernet port from the previous DeX docking station.
It is also likely that the new docking station still features built-in cooling fan as well since what seems to be a group of cooling vents are quite visible on the middle area of the docking station. That being said, it is quite hard to confirm that just from the picture alone.
Well then, stay tuned for more information on the actual device which we expect to be announced alongside Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ on 25 February.
