Intel has unveiled its newest lineup of processors called the Xeon D-2100 series. These processors are, of course, meant to be used in data centre environments. To be more specific, there are 14 different processors under Intel’s Xeon D-2100 lineup; and they’re divided into three different SKU groups: Edge Server and Cloud; Network Edge and Storage; along with Integrated Intel QuickAssists Technology.

Some major features that come with Intel’s Xeon D-2100 series of processors are that they feature up to 18 CPU cores and 36 threads, and is based off of the company’s refined 14nm process technology, which is further endowed with Intel’s Mesh Architecture. Intel’s Edge Server and Cloud SKUs include the Xeon D-2191, Xeon D-2161I, and Xeon D-2141I. These processors range from having eight to 18 CPU cores, and have a “all-core” Turbo clock speed of 2.2GHz up to 2.7GHz. The most “affordable” processor among the three is the Xeon D-2141I, which is priced at US$555 (about RM2,174);  while the priciest processor, Xeon D-2191, comes with a price tag of US$2,407 (around RM9,431).

Next up are the Network Edge and Storage Intel Xeon D-2100 processors. There are six processors under this group; these include the Xeon D-2183T, Xeon D-2173IT, Xeon D-2163IT, Xeon D-2143IT, Xeon D-2142IT, and the Xeon D-2123IT. These server-grade processors come with a minimum CPU core count of four and a maximum of 16. Prices of these processors range from US$213 (approximately RM834) up to US$1,764 (about RM6,912).

Finally, we have the Intel Xeon D-2100 processors under the Integrated Intel QuickAssist Technology group. These are the Xeon D-2187NT, Xeon D-2177NT, Xeon D-2166NT, Xeon D-2146NT, and Xeon D-2145NT. The maximum CPU core count on these processors is 16, with the lowest being eight. Prices range from US$502 (around RM1,967) up to US$1,989 (approximately RM7,793).
