Samsung is close to releasing the final version of Android Oreo 8.0 for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ as the beta program just ended recently. The company has since begin to focus on delivering the update to other devices.
Both Sammobile and Galaxyclub confirmed that Samsung is now developing the Android Oreo 8.0 upgrade for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge which were flagship devices from 2016. At the same time they are also including the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 (2017) and the Galaxy Tab S3 in the list.
So far there are no set date or time frame when these models will be getting the software updates. We suspect that it will be sometime after the company rolled the update to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ or even after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9.
Nevertheless, it is heartening to see that Samsung is still actively rolling out the latest OS updates to its older devices. We do hope that this courtesy is extended to more models in the Samsung product line in the future.
