PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is proving to be a huge success, and the developer just shared some very interesting insights. For one, as many as 26 million copies of the game were sold in Early Access alone – that’s not even the most impressive stat.
Not surprisingly, the number of concurrent players is pretty impressive too at 3.1 million players, although this isn’t exactly something we don’t already know. Aside from that, players spent 2.7 billion hours in the game, and as many as 130 million chicken dinners were “served.”
There are also quite a number of rather amusing statistics. Surprisingly enough, 13 million players were killed by a…frying pan. Bandages, on the other hand, were used as many as 10 billion times by players – 439 players used a bandage every second.
As for weapon of choice, it seems the M416 is the most popular weapon with over 55 billion equips, followed closely by the M16A4 at 52 billion. The most popular vehicle? None other than the UAZ with approximately 6 billion rides. Seems like players know very well how dangerous motorcycles can be in the game.
There’s no denying the success of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and these statistics certainly show the extent of its popularity. After all, over one million players were banned last month alone for cheating.
