There’s a new smartphone brand entering Malaysia, and its first smartphone for our market is quite a unique one: the Scanda smartphone features a built-in projector. For its feature set, however, the Scanda is not exactly an affordable smartphone.
The highlight feature of the Scanda is definitely its built-in 80 lumens 720p projector. According to the company, the Scanda’s projector features German OSRAM LED, which promises a lifespan of 20,000 hours.
Other specifications of the Scanda, on the other hand, are decidedly mid-range. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a MediaTek MT6753 1.5GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage – further expandable with a microSD card – and a very generous 4,500mAh battery.
Rounding out the specifications of the Scanda are a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing shooter, a fingerprint sensor on the front, a USB Type-C port, and Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The Scanda smartphone is now available for pre-order on its website in four colours: Red, Blue, Grey, and Black. While the phone retails at RM2,488, early pre-orders can get it for RM2,088 instead. Of course, it’s quite a costly smartphone, but the Scanda does serve as another alternative to the Moto Z phones, which offers a similar feature with the Moto Insta-Share Projector Moto Mod.
