Dragon Ball FighterZ was only released late last month, but it appears the fighting game will be featured in one of the most prominent fighting game tournaments, Evo 2018 Championship. For a game that’s only been in the market for less than a couple of weeks – not taking into account the open beta – this is quite an achievement.
Considering the prestige of Evo tournaments, the fact that Dragon Ball FighterZ will be present in the tournament certainly shows how appealing the game is in the competitive fighting game community. Interestingly enough, the producer of the game, Tomoko Hiroki, will also be entering the tournament.

Aside from Dragon Ball FighterZ, other games that will be featured in this year’s Evo include Street Fighter 5, Tekken 7, Sumer Smash Bros. Melee, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2. Oddly enough, one of the most biggest fighting games released last year, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, won’t be in the tournament.
The Evo 2018 Championship will be taking place from 3 to 5 August in Las Vegas. It’ll be interesting to see how Dragon Ball FighterZ will look like in the hands of professional players.
