Nintendo is bringing its Mario Kart IP into the realm of mobile gaming. The gaming company made the official announcement via its ‘NintendoOfAmerica’ Twitter account just yesterday. According to multiple sources, it appears that an app called ‘Mario Kart Tour’ is slated for a release nearing the end of the company’s next financial fiscal year, which is in March 2019.
This will be the fourth title Nintendo has ported over to the mobile realm, and the second Super Mario title to be made for mobile devices after its 2016 Super Mario Run. The other two titles are Fire Emblem Heroes and the recently released Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

Mario Kart made its debut back in 1992 (yes, the IP is that old) with Super Mario Kart. Since then, Nintendo has launched eight iterations of the game over for every one of its existing consoles. The latest and most current title, Mario Kart 8, first launched on the Wii U, but was ported over to the Nintendo Switch.
