Fujifilm announced its latest mirrorless camera. The Fufjiflm X-A5 is an upgraded version of the X-A3 and features faster auto-focus, better performance and even a pseudo-4K recording mode.
The sensor in the X-A5 is a 24.2MP Bayer sensor rather than the X-Trans sensor from the higher end Fujifilm cameras. Fujifilm is also promising faster performance up to 1.5 times when compared to the older model thanks to a newer image processing chip in the camera.
Other enhancements includes a longer battery life with 450 shots per charge, two new Advanced Filters: Fog Remove and HDR Art, an external 2.5mm audio jack and weirdly enough a 15fps 4K recording mode. Thankfully it can still record 1080p as well. The flip-up 3-inch touch screen will help for arms-length video recording popularised by vloggers.
Fujifilm also includes both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity in the X-A5 for easy content transfer to smartphones and computer. A new lens is bundled with the X-A5; the FUJINON XC15-45mmF3.5- 5.6 OIS PZ is the first X-series lens that has electronic zoom.
The Fujifilm X-A5 will be available from early February onwards with a US retail price of US$ 599.95 (RM 2,338) with Malaysian availability expected to be announced soon. Three colour trims will be available: silver & black, silver & brown and silver & pink.
