A new schematic drawing of the Sony Xperia XZ Pro may have surfaced online. It has characteristics of the typical Sony flair, with some modern touches. Which only reinforces the perception that Sony’s design language has not changed much in the last few years.
The schematics shows the familiar Xperia design to which Sony has doggedly attached itself. The angular sides, the camera shutter button and the side power button cum fingerprint scanner. Happily Sony is keeping the stereo speakers on the XZ Pro if the drawing is correct.
Of course, the biggest change here is the dual-camera setup. It looks like Sony may be using a module with either a telephoto zoom or a wide angle as the lenses looks to feature different magnifications. One of the cameras is expected to be an 18MP sensor with a pixel size of 1.33μm and the other a 12MP sensor with a pixel size of 1.38μm. Next to the camera is the LED/Laser Autofocus module.
Powering the XZ Pro will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS internal storage. Sony is expected to retain the IP68 water- and dust-resistance rating on all its smartphones with the XZ Pro; and should be including a respectable 3,450mAh battery.
We will be seeing this phone launched (or at least previewed) during MWC 2018, which just a few weeks away.
