After the integration of the feature into Maybank2U app last month, Maybank has moved on to the next step in its QRPay roll out plan by releasing the dedicated QRPay for Seller app last night. Available for Android and iOS devices, the app was originally made available only to the merchants that were involved in QRPay’s initial public trial last month.
In general, virtually anyone is able to utilize the app since it doesn’t require users to own a Maybank business or corporate account. In fact, the bank also allows customers with normal savings account to register as QRPay merchant as well as those with account from other banks.
While the interface is still quite rudimentary at the moment, the QRPay for Seller app is already equipped with several features that could be useful for business owners in addition to the ability to generate QR codes for payment purposes. Among them are the abilities to set and manage multiple outlets as well as specific feature-limited access for cashiers.
Users are also able craft their own promotion directly into the app in which potential customers are able to search through the QRPay section of Maybank2U app. Of course, they are also able to view sales transaction records through the app although it is limited to transactions that took place of up to 90 days.
At this moment, merchants are not being charged for QRPay transactions. To learn more, head on to Maybank’s official website.
