It appears Huawei will not be unveiling its new P-series smartphones at MWC 2018, if a new report is to be believed. If this is the case, Huawei will follow the footsteps of LG to not release any brand new flagship smartphone at the trade show.
According to Etnews, Huawei will not introduce any new smartphone at MWC 2018; the company is said to be occupied with preparations to enter the US market, as well as stabilising the supply and demand for its next-generation chipsets. Interestingly enough, Huawei is said to be taking more time to improve the rumoured triple camera system of its next P-series smartphone too.
Aside from that, previous rumours suggested that the next P-series phone will be called the P20, but this may not be the case anymore. Although the company trademarked P20 a while back (and that’s only for the US market), it also recently trademarked the P11 moniker in the US, UK, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and other countries.
Nonetheless, if both Huawei and LG won’t showcase new flagship smartphones at MWC 2018, Samsung may have the upper hand here. After all, the company confirmed not too long ago that it’ll introduce its next Galaxy S smartphones at the trade show. In retrospect, this may be the reason why other phone makers are not planning to unveil their own devices at MWC 2018.
