If you’ve always been wanting to get a huge capacity microSD card, you may be intrigued with the world’s first 512GB microSD card. Manufactured by Integral Memory, this is the largest (capacity) microSD card you can get, trumping even SanDisk’s 400GB microSD card.
However, it’s worth noting that Integral’s 512GB microSD card isn’t quite as fast as SanDisk’s 400GB card. The 512GB card peaks at 80MB/s, while the 400GB SanDisk microSD card is slightly faster at 100MB/s.
Aside from that, the the 512GB microSD card is rated as an SDXC UHH-I U1 card too. Basically, it has a minimum write speed of 10MB/s, which should be good enough for normal consumers. It also meets the V10 standard for video recording, so it can record 1080p videos with no difficulty.
At the time of writing, Integral’s 512GB microSD card has no retail price yet, but it’s safe to assume it will cost a pretty penny. After all, even SanDisk’s 400GB microSD card goes for a whopping RM1,499 in Malaysia.
Integral Memory’s 512GB microSD card will be available to consumers sometime next month in February. It remains to be seen just how readily available the large microSD card is.
