OPPO has announced that it will be releasing the OPPO A83 in Malaysia later this month. The device which has been launched in China and Taiwan is the latest addition to the company’s 18:9 smartphone line-up in Malaysia after the release of OPPO F5 last year.
Interestingly, the A83 is actually powered by the same MediaTek Helio P23 MT6763T as per F5. Not only that, the phone is also equipped with similar memory and internal storage configurations at 4GB and 32GB respectively. The A83 also carries a 13MP f/2.2 rear camera which is identical to the F5 Youth.
Of course, there are quite a number of components that differentiate A83 and F5 apart. For example, the A83 comes with a slightly smaller 5.7-inch display which also has lower screen resolution at 1440×720. Despite being enhanced by the same AI-based technology, the front camera on A83 is equipped with 8MP sensor as opposed to 20MP on F5 and 16MP on F5 Youth.
Rounding A83’s general specifications is its 3180mAh battery which not far off from the 3200mAh battery that present inside F5. Consumers in Malaysia are able to get their hands on the new OPPO A83 starting from next Tuesday, 23 January onwards although the actual price for the device has not been revealed at the moment.
