A few weeks ago, we’ve written an article regarding Intel’s new processors that will be making their debut this year. This time round, one rather interesting leak has surfaced containing the names and specifications of notebook CPUs we can expect from Intel this year. These processors are, of course, based on the company’s Coffee Lake CPU architecture.
To be more specific, Intel’s upcoming lineup of mobile processors are categorised as “Coffee Lake-H” series of CPUs. Coffee Lake-H processors include the likes of the Core i5-8300H, Core i5-8400H, Core i7-8750H, Core i7-8850H, and Core i9-8950HK. Both the Core i5-8300H and Core i5-8400H feature four CPU cores and eight threads; while the Core i7 and Core i9 processors come with six CPU cores and twelve threads. Differences can also be found on their respective clock speeds.
In addition to the Coffee Lake-H mobile processors, Intel is also apparently going to introduce two brand new Xeon processors for the notebook market. These are the Xeon E-2176M and Xeon E-2186M – both of which feature six cores and twelve threads. Those aside, do take this leak with a grain of salt for now, at least until Intel makes an official announcement. Regardless, it looks like 2018 will indeed be a good year to get yourself a notebook, especially now that the CPU core counts are about to be increased.
