A bug in the recent update for the iOS version of Facebook Messenger is reportedly causing the app’s keyboard to freeze up. According to reports from The Verge and TechCrunch, the bug is frustrating many iOS users because it only allows them to type out a few words on the app’s keyboard before freezing up.
To give the world a more detailed look at the bug, a Twitter user called @brian_books actually took a screen recording of the problem.
@messenger your app is totally broken on iOS 11 right now. I can only type 1-2 words. pic.twitter.com/Dx82BJVwEm

Now, before you start shaking your fist at Facebook, books also pointed out in his Twitter post that the bug seemed to only kick in because of the autocorrect function. So until Facebook rolls out a remedy for this irritating bug, you’ll just have to turn off the function.
On that note: Facebook had told TechCrunch that it is aware of the bug and that it is currently looking into it, but fell short on saying what was the cause and how it plans on rectifying the issue.
