The brand new Dell XPS 13 will be arriving in Malaysia on 26 January, but it appears the ultraportable’s local price tag has been revealed. Set to retail from RM5,999, the 2018 XPS 13 is not exactly an affordable laptop.
But that is really to be expected of a premium-tier laptop like the XPS 13. Unlike its predecessor, this year’s iteration of the ultraportable comes with a sleek new white-and-gold colour option. On top of that, it also features a 13.3-inch 4K or 1080p InfinityEdge touch display – there’s also a non-touch model, but only in 1080p.
Naturally, the new XPS 13 comes packed with Intel’s latest eight generation Core i5-8250U or Core i7-8550U processor paired with up to 16GB of RAM. As for storage, it can only be fitted with a 128GB, 256GB or 512GB SSD. Battery life seems to be the XPS 13’s forte too; its 52WHr battery can supposedly provide up to a whopping 19 hours of battery life.
At the time of writing, it remains to be seen the actual specifications of the most basic XPS 13 for our market. Considering the fact that the premium Ultrabook retails from RM5,999, it’ll be interesting to see how much RAM and SSD the base model will have.
