As you might have heard, Webe (also known as UniFi Mobile) is no longer accepting new registration for its unlimited mobile and wireless broadband plans. That doesn’t mean the telco arm of TM is closing its shop though.
Instead, Webe has stated on its website that it is planning to announce a new mobile plan soon which is in line with our report last year. However, the telco is still keeping the launch date of the new plan as a secret for the time being although customers are able to register their interest at Webe’s official website.
Officially available to general consumers in Q4 2016, Webe entered the market not only with a strong foundation as a TM subsidiary but also with a rather unique product at that time in the form of its unlimited mobile plan even though it might not be as straight forward as plans from other telcos. Webe then added wireless broadband into its portfolio few months later.
It is hard to guess whether Webe will retain the unlimited plan for 2018. At the same time though, the telco is also expected to unveil prepaid plan in which references to it still exist on the source code of Webe’s official website until today.
All in all, we are waiting to see what Webe has in store for this year. After all, the telco is still playing a big part in TM’s mission to provide converged services to consumers.
