Thunderobot may be preparing for its official Malaysian launch later this week, but its range of gaming laptops have already appeared on Lazada. The company has launched its official online store with the e-commerce platform, giving us a first look at what it has to offer.
The cheapest of the four laptops is the Thunderobot 911 SE. At RM4499, it packs an Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor, 8GB RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB. Storage comes in the form of a 1TB HDD paired with a 128GB SSD. All of which are average internals, with nothing quite standing out. Although the FHD 15.6-inch display is somewhat more attractive at that price range.
Next in line is the Thunderobot ST Plus, which is pretty much the same as the 911 SE. The only difference is that it upgrades the processor up to a Core i7-7700HQ and bumps the price up to RM4899.
Meanwhile, the Thunderobot TR 911GT is the mid-range gaming laptop from Thunderobot with a 17.3-inch FHD IPS display for RM7099. Inside is an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 16GB dual channel DDR4 RAM, a 1TB HDD, a 256GB SSD, and a GTX 1060 6GB GPU.
Finally, there is the Thunderobot Dino, the most premium laptop in the line. This 15.6-inch machine packs a 120Hz display, which not something all that common at RM8899. Powering it is an Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 16GB dual channel DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD, 256GB SSD, and a GTX 1070 8GB GPU.
It’s quite clear that the Dino is meant to be the hero product for the Thunderobot line, seeing that it’s the only one with a full product description on the official store; there are no additional details on I/O ports on the other laptops. Thankfully, this also gives us additional information about it, such as the dual fan cooling system and number of connectivity ports (which don’t include Thunderbolt 3).
On the whole, the Thunderobot line looks like it’s aimed firmly at the entry and mid-range gaming market, particularly since its highest end machine packs “only” a GTX 1070 GPU. However, the reasonable price points of the laptops may make these laptops interesting options for those looking to game on a budget. That said, we’ll find out more about the laptops when they are officially launched in Malaysia in a few days.
