Back at Computex earlier this year, ASUS surprised the crowd by releasing the ROG Strix GL720ZC gaming laptop which is powered by AMD Ryzen desktop processor. Soon, the gaming laptop will finally be able to make its debut in Malaysia.
Based on the ASUS Malaysia’s response to our queries, the ROG Strix GL720ZC variant for our market will carry the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 CPU together with AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB as its GPU. To independently cool down these components, ASUS has implemented Hyper Cool Duo-Copper cooling system into the laptop which utilizes a set of heat pipes and two thermal fan.
Equipped with a 17.3-inch full HD 60Hz IPS display with support for AMD FreeSync technology, it also carries 8GB of RAM, 256GB SATA3 solid state drive, and 1TB 7200rpm hard drive. In addition to its backlit 30-key rollover keyboard, it also comes with a 4-cell 76Whr battery although its battery life was not mentioned by ASUS.
As for its pricing in Malaysia, ASUS is still keeping it as a secret at the moment though. Nevertheless, more details regarding the Ryzen-powered ROG gaming laptop will be revealed soon enough as it will be launched in Malaysia on January 2018.
